Yingsong Li, Harbin Engineering University, China

Driven by the dramatic development of mobile internet, the mobile device is gradually evolving. It is becoming thinner in profile, faster in data throughput, more efficient in power handling and more versatile in function. There is a growing trend that the antennas are becoming more and more compact to be placed in the mobile device with more stringent constraint. Since high performance antenna plays an important role in modern communication systemshigh performance antenna design, analysis and miniaturization techniques become attractive topics and research interests. They are widely studied for various applications such as mobile terminals, wearable devices and portable radars.

Several issues of antenna design for mobile devices have been concerned, including feeding techniques, miniaturization techniques, decoupling techniques as well as analytical and numerical analysis etc. One of the objectives of this session is to report the trends of the compact and high performance antenna design techniques, and discuss the novel antenna theory and analysis methods for mobile devices.

Prestigious scholars are invited to present their recent achievements.Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

-MIMO and massive MIMO antennas for 5G wireless communication systems

-Smart antennas for mobile terminals

-Multi-functional antennas

-Millimeter-wave antennas for portable devices

-Portable radar antennas

-Antenna designs for wearable devices
